CIRKUSPLATÅN

How can circus be shaped and take place in the public space today?

Inspired by how circus historically traveled from town to town, "taking over" spaces and inviting audience into their imaginative universe, this project takes its starting point from the question of how the circus of our time "comes to town". How does the feeling transfer to a modern comparable course of events? Historically speaking, the circus is an ambulatory scene, a room for magic and imagination inside a structure that combines architecture, stage, art and play. The project builds on these qualities, but placed in our time.
