Summer 2026 at Varieté Hablingbo

In the summer of 2026, circus director Tilde Björfors will raise the canvas of the legendary circus tent in Hablingbo to usher in a new era of breathtaking circus magic. Together with artists and creators from the golden years of Cirkus Cirkör, as well as friends from near and far, the mythical tent will once again be filled with circus performances featuring life-affirming humor, drama, music, and acrobatics.

A vibrant meeting place and cultural experience for audiences of all ages, where the magic of circus is shared across generations and creates memories that last a lifetime.

A New Chapter Begins

The summer of 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter in the legendary circus tent in Hablingbo as circus director Tilde Björfors takes over its operations. She opens the tent to a season filled with extraordinary circus magic. Together with artists and creators from the heyday of Cirkus Cirkör, and friends from near and far, the fabled tent will once again come alive with performances blending humor, emotion, music, and acrobatics.

A living gathering place for audiences of all ages, where the magic of circus is shared between generations and creates memories for life.

Premiere

Magikern premieres on July 7 at 7:00 PM.

Performances will then run Tuesday through Sunday from July 8–30 at 7:00 PM.

Try Circus

In collaboration with Nycirkus Gotland, visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to try circus arts for themselves. For those who wish to explore the circus world more deeply, summer day camps and master classes led by professional circus artists will also be offered throughout the season.

Dinner Before the Show

Crêperie Hablingbo will be open from 5:00 PM for guests who would like to enjoy a meal before the evening performance.

A Magical Place

This summer, Hablingbo becomes a place where past and present meet—and together create the future.

It has been 31 years since contemporary circus made its spectacular entrance into the Nordic countries. It has been 25 years since Ingela Hinas and Santo Magonza created the first performance at Varieté Hablingbo. Since then, artists and companies have met Gotland audiences every summer until the pandemic in 2019.

Now we wish to revive this remarkable venue, celebrate Hablingbo and the art of circus, and create encounters where pioneers of contemporary circus meet both their predecessors and a new generation of performers beneath the stars of the circus tent.
